Entries are now open for the 2019 MWPBA Regular Season Contests. Both band and solo entries are open. In order to participate you or your band must be either an MWPBA member or a member of an affiliated ANAPBA association.
Several MWPBA members are holding a 4 week workshop at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago; the class begins Saturday, January 12, and runs through to February.

The MWPBA Rules and Regulation for the 2019 season are now posted, and you'll find the document posted under THE ASSOCIATION and CONTESTS menus.
It is in the best interest of games sponsors, judges, bands leaders and soloists to read this document in its entirety.
The only change for 2019 is that the definition of Junior and Senior has changed for the Grade 4 and Novice piping categories. Players are considered Senior if they are 18 years or older on January 1.
The forms for management of MWPBA member band competition rosters are now available, along with the RI registration forms. You'll find each form under the BANDS menu. Rosters and RI forms are due March 31.
We had originally hoped that we could carry over the rosters submitted for last season, but due to technical difficulties we can't do this for 2019. We should be able to rollover this season's rosters into next season and beyond though.
Note that the band competition entry forms for this season will not ask MWPBA member bands to attach a roster, since they will be totally managed via the online Band Roster Management form. It is therefore essential that your band roster is kept up to date. Just a reminder that rosters are intended to list only competing members of the band.
Non-competing bands, players, and enthusiasts are encouraged to support the MWPBA by joining as a Sustaining Member.
Sustaining Member Bands are included on the List of Bands on the MWPBA website, and the maps of member bands, which is direct advertising of the band for those looking for a band or piping/drumming instruction in their area, and enjoy the satisfaction of supporting the arts and the work of the MWPBA. Sustaining Member bands are non-voting members of the MWPBA.
Sustaining Solo Members are also listed on the MWPBA website, and their membership fees and support directly contribute to the opportunities available to the MWPBA in support of our goals.
Membership fees at the Sustaining level are deeply discounted to encourage membership.
The entry forms for the Terry McHugh Regional Solos and the PM Ian Swinton Pro Solos piping contests are now available.
The Regional Finals and the Pro Solos will both be held on May 4th, 2019.
