Terry McHugh Memorial Amateur Solo Piping Contest

The Terry McHugh Memorial Amateur Solo Piping Contest will be held on March 23, 2024, at:

Park Ridge Presbyterian Church

1300 W. Crescent Ave.

Park Ridge, IL 60068

Please note that this is a new location from prior years of the contest. Doors open at 10:00 a.m.

There are no regional qualifier contests; the contest may be entered directly. Contest entry is open to current solo members of the MWPBA and other associations within ANAPBA with reciprocal membership agreement.

The cost to enter each event is $11.00 USD. The on-time entry deadline is the Sunday 2 weeks before the contest, with a grace period of 1 week for late entrants, for which a late fee of $10.00 will be assessed.

Coming up on Sat, February 10 is the first contest of the MWPBA 2024 pre-season, the Winter Warmup Solos and Quartets contest hosted at Macalester College, MN.

Band and solo registration forms for 2024 membership are now available, along with regrade forms.

Band membership fees increase after Jan 31; solo membership fees increase after March 31.

MWPBA AGM 2023 Sat Nov 4

The MWPBA Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday November 4th at 1:00 CST.

It will be held in the Heritage Hall of the Scottish Home and the address is: 2800 S. Des Plaines Ave. North Riverside, IL

The usual reports and updates will be included as well as the presentation of the Champion Supreme trophies for the 2023 season.

There will be some exciting news to report on that you won't want to miss. The meeting will also be available via Zoom (details to follow) but we hope to see you in person.

To save time during the AGM, the minutes from 2022's AGM are posted here. Please take some time to read through them; we will be asking to approve them as our 3rd order of business during the meeting. If you have any objections to them, bring them up at the AGM.

The agenda for the meeting can be found here. As part of the agenda, the 2022 MWPBA Member submissions are included at the end of it. Again, please read through these prior to the meeting, as there will be some discussion and potential voting required on these issues.
