Professional Solo Piping Contest, 2023

Entry Form

 

  • One solo piping contest with two events - Piobaireachd and MSR
  • The cost to enter is $25.00 USD for the entire contest (not per event).  No refund of entry fees will be made for events entered but not competed in unless the contest is cancelled.
  • Entry is open to Professional/Open Grade pipers only; entrants need to be registered with the MWPBA or other pipe band associations for the current year, 2023.
  • The deadline for contest entry is Sun, April 16, 2023. No late entries.
  • Address all questions on the contest to MWPBA President Jim Sim.

 

The events offered are:

Piping
  • Open: Piobaireachd
  • Open: MSR
  • Current MWPBA contest rules apply.   Ties will be broken by the Piobaireachd result.
  • In each event, the competitor must submit 4 tunes (4 Piobaireachd and 4 March, Strathspey, and Reel sets)
  • All light music tunes must be 4-parted, at a minimum.

The Pipe Major Ian Swinton Open will be held on May 6, 2023 at the Hope Community Bible Church (1266 NW Highway, Park Ridge, IL 60068). Start time to be announced.
